I really need to give a big shout-out to the guys at BikeBiz Parramatta in Sydney, who were really helpful when I showed up knowing absolutely nothing, asking for help to get kitted out. What I...

Jumped back on my Vstrom yesterday after riding the CB500X for a few days and was immediately struck by how much better this bike is for me, partly because of what it is and partly because of the bits the previous owner and I have added to it. I started thinking about why I though it was better, this is the result! Not saying its better than your bike but this is why I like mine.
So, it is currently stupidly-early’o’clock. I’ve already been up for an hour because I’m excited... because I’m heading to Jindabyne today for the Horizons Unlimited adventure motorcycle get together weekend meet up of awesomeness. I’ve never been to Jindy and the stories I’m hearing are that it is motorcycle paradise on earth. So today I’ll find out! Yesterday and the day before was spent...
Just completed my first long highway trip and thought I'd share my experience and what I learnt. It was 2 hours doing 100/110 from Canberra to Goulbourne. Since getting my bike (z300) a year ago I've done little time doing over 100 km/hr, mostly commuting and doing my local twisties at under 80. Here's a few things I found out...
So we finally got out of winter and the riding was beckoning. And we were doing a heap of short trips, but that’s not what we both enjoyed about riding, so a plan was formed. We are both lucky enough to get an RDO about once a month, and we were clever enough to pick up the Monday before the Melbourne Cup Day, so we got a four day weekend. Plenty of roads beckoned, and we considered more of...
So I’m a bit pedantic about stuff like this - I hate getting stuck on the roadside and not having what I need to get me home. I’m not saying I want to pull over in the desert and check valve clearances, but I really like having the tools I need to make minor adjustments on the road, move handles, levers and controls, straighten shit after a drop, or otherwise fiddle around. We were on a ride...
Tomorrow morning at 6:00am myself, my brother and a mate will be heading off on a three-day trip. All Honda 800 mounted (two VFRs and one Crossrunner,) we'll be heading up the Putty to Thunderbolt's and then Walcha for the first night. Then down the Oxley (and back up and down again) then to Port Macquarie. Home on Sunday by as many twisty roads as we can find. Should be fun..

Well to show case or not.... not. This is only for racing so i figured here was best. Our newest member to our family! Yet to be named.... new decals and colours to be added as well. 3 "kids" in the garage, its a dream come true...the family keeps growing! No. 4 to be added early next week! I think 4 will be enough.
Fellow nerds… I have a theory. I was thinking about how much force I need to pick my bike up from a drop and this is what I came up with. Disclaimer: maths ahead. Let the force needed to tip the bike upright equal Fbike. We are not lifting the entire weight of the bike, just the component of the weight of the bike that is perpendicular to the trajectory of the lift. I have taken the...
Ok, no problem I say
I have heard lots about the Oxley Hwy and Putty Rd but never been and i think i should. And so should Berty although i doubt she'll care as long as it is far away and fully of twisties.
I'm not sure about the route but after doing a little reading on the forum i have hatched a plan.
Being from Victoria, I know my way around here okay and we've spent some time...
