Was meaning to get stuck into the garden today but then came up with a better plan. Why not get on my bike and explore some new places. So having checked Google maps and selected the most direct...

Earlier in the year myself and a group of friends did a 6 Day lap of Tassie after the World Supers in February. I thought I'd put up the link to my blog post so that anyone interested in a similar trip might be able to get a few tips on some of tassie's best bike roads. It may help them in planning some routes and destinations. Tassie has some of the most spectacular scenery in Australia and...
It's been three months since the accident and I can't believe how quickly it's gone by, where did all the time go?
I've started physio and no longer need the crutches, which is a godsend, although I'm still stuck with the boot.
The massive negative to it all is the boredom, besides the broken leg haha.
Can't wait to be back on a bike and thanks to everyone here for all the funny and...
Thats what the family members, work mates, Doctor's and even the insurance dude have told me.
"You're risking your life every time you get on that thing"
"You got away with a serious accident"
"You're very lucky to be alive"
and my favourite of all "You're selfish and ignorant" etc etc.
Yes they're right, I am risking my life, but could it be possible that they are actually wrong or mislead in...
Every now and again some bikes turn out to be less than awesome and not a great experience. I found my self wanting to have a VMax and thought I'd get a 1200 to see what the world was on fire about. I'd read heaps, seen a few and really needed one, so I trawled about for a few weeks and called a guy in Brisbane who had one and we settled at $4000. All the conversations were good and I said...
Ah well, with some awesome sunshine and a pleasant 22 degree day tipped, with all else done I figured why not head out for a little ride and see if my recent thoughts and test rides of other bikes were an indication that I needed a change, or just the 2+ year itch I get with every damn bike I buy. So, it was time to head out with the plan being a small hour or so ride around the local sealed...
Too late. I've gone and done it. Let's start with why I bought and sold the Diavel. The Diavel was one of those "dream" bikes for me and it's brief time with me was bloody fantastic, if tumultuous. We wheelied, we scraped the pegs, headers and even the bloody exhaust link pipe bolt head chasing quicker men than me, we spun that 240 rear tyre out of corners and just generally behaved like an...
I've been putting a few posts and pictures of this build in the "what's been done to your bike today" thread but I thought I'd start my own thread to keep it in one place. Apologies to those who've seen this stuff all before.
It's not going to be a comprehensive build log. I'll just document a few of the things that we've done.
Background: My daughter's boyfriend Sam decided a couple years...
I picked up this Sportster Sport for cheap because it had been in a minor drop and thought I'd chronicle the mods I'm doing to it. Here's what it looked like in the ad. I fitted quieter mufflers from a 2010 Fat Bob (they didn't *really* fit but they worked enough for rego), replaced the two broken indicators, mirrors and the front brake master cylinder and got the bike registered....
Got some video from the ride Sibi and I did after we transferred our licences from NSW to VIC. I replicated the first part of the loop that Mick M took me on the previous Friday, Lilydale around to Gembrook and up to Yarra Junction. Well this meant doing the nice 100km/h section. The roads were decidedly moist and mossy so we took it pretty easy and we had a bit of a surprise going around one...
